Stressed, distracted, overworked, disorganized? There’s a chatbot for that.

According to Gartner, 85% of customer interactions will be managed without a human by 2020. While this may sound dystopian, it’s actually good news for most of us: while bots can’t replace the human touch, they can save us time that we might otherwise spend on tedious tasks.

Chatbots typically reside in messenger apps such as Facebook Messenger, Slack, and Telegram, although many companies are also developing their own proprietary bots. They can be used to report data, streamline work processes, answer customer questions, share new features, and perform a host of other tasks.

Different bots have different niches, so think about your specific business needs and be intentional about choosing a bot to help you fulfill them. Be strategic about which chatbots you implement, and note where they’re effectively enhancing your performance. Here’s the lowdown on a few different types of chatbots, which networks they support, and how you can use them to streamline your processes.

1. Statsbot

Slack uses a bot called Statsbot to help businesses keep up with and analyze key metrics. To make the most of Stasbot, outline the metrics you want to focus on — whether that’s pageviews, conversions, search ranking, or social traffic. Then just ask Statsbot!

2. Nikabot

Perfect for distributed or remote workforces, Nikabot prompts team members to track which tasks they’re working on throughout the day. It then creates reports of each team’s activity organized by time, project, and employee.

3. Sashabot

SashaBot is a peppy, data-driven bot for Google Docs. Ask her a question to receive real-time data, custom reports, and charts. Consider her the Siri of marketing analytics.

4. Niki Bot

Niki will do pretty much anything you need when it comes to ordering, booking, and buying. Particularly useful for those who travel a lot, Niki can book you a cab, a hotel, and even pay your bills! While right now, Niki is only available in India, we have a feeling that she’ll be making her stateside debut sooner rather than later.

5. Reveal Bot

Reveal Bot not only helps marketers automate their ads, but also offers insights into how to improve each marketing campaign to optimize ROI. Instead of sending hourly or daily reports, Reveal Bot simply notifies you about interesting data points that may need further investigation.
