With over 300 million monthly active users, Twitter has established itself as one of the most popular (and unique) social platforms. Its signature short posts facilitate lively exchange and the fast flow of information.

But while the platform values brevity, its users still appreciate longform content. As political and cultural discourse continues to dominate the platform, your target audience may be paying more attention to Twitter than you think. In fact, over the past two years, content consumption on the platform has increased by 25%. The preference for in-depth discussions has even affected the platform itself — Twitter recently doubled its trademark character limit from 140 to 280 characters.
